Late October keeps the new-kitchen parade moving around Pasadena. The most talked-about arrivals right now reach beyond the city limits into the San Gabriel Valley, where Beijing-style crispy bing sandwiches have settled into San Gabriel's Tawa Gateway, a Baltimore-born karak chai room has opened on Lake Avenue, and one of Los Angeles' best-loved bakeries is about to plant its flag on Lincoln Avenue. I am Alejandro Espitia, a Broker Associate and REALTOR with Apex Realty and Investments, licensed in California (01213999) since 1996, serving Los Angeles, San Bernardino, San Gabriel, and Riverside, fluent in English and Spanish. I keep a running list of the newest tables in the neighborhoods I serve, and every pick below comes from the venue's own site or current local reporting, with sources at the bottom of the post.
Bingz Crispy 'Wich: Beijing-style bing in San Gabriel
Bingz Crispy 'Wich at 140 W. Valley Boulevard, Suite 118C, in San Gabriel, inside the Tawa Gateway center, makes the Beijing-style crispy bing sandwich, the roasted-and-braised filling folded into a shattering flaky flatbread that Angelenos know as the crispy bing burger. The shop held a soft opening on September 10 and its grand opening on September 12, 2026, and it is still showing up on new-opening guides this month. L.A. TACO first reported the arrival with the warm-up line that Beijing's crispy bing burgers were coming to the San Gabriel Valley, and The Infatuation's review covers the full menu. If you have not tried rou jia mo before, this is a friendly, affordable place to start, and it is a short drive from Pasadena into a neighborhood I know well, since the San Gabriel Valley is one of the areas I serve.
Mehfil Chai and Coffee: Baltimore-born karak chai on Lake
Mehfil Chai and Coffee at 82 S. Lake Avenue, Suite 101 brings a Baltimore-born karak chai brand to Pasadena's Lake District. Karak chai is the bold, sweetened, spice-kissed milk tea of the Gulf, simmered strong and served hot, and Mehfil pairs it with coffee drinks and a small lineup of bites. It opened earlier this year and is still listed among the new arrivals in The Infatuation's October 22 guide to new L.A. restaurant openings. It is an easy stop after a walk on Lake Avenue, and the kind of neighborhood room that makes a first visit feel like a routine.
Lodge Bread Company: a Lincoln Avenue bakery to watch for
Lodge Bread Company is projected to open at 1951 Lincoln Avenue in early November, in the space next to Homestate and Kismet at the Altadena border. The room is substantial, roughly 3,000 square feet with about 75 seats indoors and on the patio, and the menu plans around the bakery's signature breads, cinnamon rolls, sandwiches, shakshuka, salads, and fresh loaves. The same owners intend to open Full Proof Pizza Company in part of the space later, currently projected for January 2027. Eater Los Angeles named Lodge Bread among its most anticipated Los Angeles restaurant openings of fall 2026, and the Lodge Bread cafe locations page lists the Pasadena bakery as opening this fall, so watch their social channels for the exact date.
A note on details: opening hours, menus, and opening dates can shift in the first weeks of a new restaurant's life, and projected openings like Lodge Bread can move by a few days.
