Newly opened bars in Pasadena to know

A warm, sourced guide to the new bars in Pasadena worth knowing this fall: Vegan Wine La Cave, an intimate all-vegan French wine bar on Green Street from the chef behind ID-Eclair, and Bar Del Mar by Granville, the rooftop bar on Lake Avenue with San Gabriel Mountain views, plus the names topping the hot-new-bars lists.

Archived: this roundup covered openings and events that have already passed. The places below are still open to enjoy, and the newest journal guides above cover what is upcoming now.

Pasadena's bar scene has a few new faces this fall, and two of them are worth putting on your list right now. Vegan Wine La Cave, the all-vegan French wine bar from the pastry chef behind ID-Eclair, pours a quietly elegant list on Green Street, and Bar Del Mar by Granville keeps its claim as Pasadena's rooftop bar with mountain views and a fireplace on Lake Avenue. Around them, Yelp's hot-new-bars list keeps surfacing names like Osa Rooftop, Bar Betsy, and The Lucky Tiki. I am Alejandro Espitia, a Broker Associate and REALTOR with Apex Realty and Investments, and Pasadena is my home turf. Licensed in California since 1996, with 200+ homes sold serving Los Angeles, San Bernardino, San Gabriel, and Riverside, and fluent in English and Spanish, I keep an eye on the neighborhood's best new places so you know where to go. Every pick below comes from current local reporting and listings, with sources at the bottom of the post.

Vegan Wine La Cave: a French wine bar on Green Street

Vegan Wine La Cave, also known as La Cave by Chef Romuald Guiot, is an intimate, all-vegan French wine bar at 163 W. Green Street in Old Pasadena. It is the sister establishment of the vegan bakery ID-Eclair, opened by French-trained pastry chef Romuald Guiot, who trained at the three-Michelin-starred La Maison de Marc Veyrat and was a finalist on Season 8 of Food Network's Spring Baking Championship. The room has a speakeasy feel, and the list leans on French and biodynamic wines from regions like Alsace, Bordeaux, and Burgundy, poured alongside savory small plates: leek salad, a cheese board, a Parisian sandwich, and a daily soup. It is open Wednesday through Sunday from 3:00 to 9:00 pm. More on the La Cave site and the Old Pasadena directory listing.

Bar Del Mar by Granville: Pasadena's rooftop bar

Bar Del Mar by Granville sits on the roof of GRANVILLE at 270 S. Lake Avenue, and it remains one of the few places in Pasadena where you can drink with the San Gabriel Mountains in view. The rooftop features a fireplace, lounge seating, and an indoor-outdoor wraparound bar, styled by Eddie Bitton of Bitton Design Group as an updated midcentury-modern space. The drinks list covers craft cocktails, wine, and beer, and the kitchen runs lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch, so it works for a proper meal or just a sunset glass. It is part of a small Southern California chain, but the rooftop is the Pasadena one to know. Details are on the South Lake Avenue business directory and the Pasadena Magazine feature.

More names on the hot-new-bars list

Beyond those two, the crowd's verdict keeps surfacing a handful of newer spots worth a look: Osa Rooftop, Bar Betsy, The Lucky Tiki, The Green Room, Bull and Barrel, Behind Bars, and 10 1/4 Pasadena all appear on Yelp's 2026 hot-new-bars rankings. The list shifts as new places open, so the freshest version lives on the Yelp hot new bars page for Pasadena, and Pasadena Magazine's best places for drinks in 2026 is a great longer read on the city's cocktail scene.

A note on details: bar hours, kitchen times, and small-plate menus can shift, and a few of the names on the hot lists move locations or change hours quickly. Please confirm directly with each spot before you head out, and use the links below for the latest. If you have a favorite new Pasadena bar I missed, text me and I will add it to the next edition.
